Pictures Of Perfection (Audiobook) by Reginald Hill ~ Dalziel and Pascoe Series, Book 14 Having avidly followed the television series, this was my first read and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more. The characters are so 'real' and the narrator brings them to life beautifully along with the setting. It was very entertaining and funny in places - I actually laughed out loud.

Pictures of Perfection (Dalziel and Pascoe Mysteries ~ In reality, this book is not so much as crime story as a village drama populated by a caste of colourful characters and whilst the mystery at the heart of the book is redolent of how policing has changed since the 1980s when this book was written, it is immediately apparent why the Dalziel and Pascoe series still retains a loyal following.
